Your Day to Day

As a Staff Data Scientist, you would be working on :

• Data Analysis and Pre-processing: Conducting exploratory data analysis to understand the structure and patterns within data sets. Perform data cleaning, transformation, and feature engineering to ensure high-quality data for model training and analysis.

• Model Development and Evaluation: Developing machine learning models and algorithms to solve specific business problems or enhance products/services. Evaluating the performance of machine learning models using appropriate metrics and techniques such as cross-validation.

• Data Visualization and Collaboration: Creating visualizations to communicate insights from data analysis and model results to stakeholders. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, engineers, and product managers, to understand requirements and deliver solutions.

• Research and Documentation: Staying updated on the latest advancements in machine learning and data science techniques, and experimenting with new methodologies to improve model performance. Documenting the data science process, including data sources, methodologies, and model specifications, to ensure reproducibility and knowledge sharing within the team.

• Mentoring and Coaching: Providing guidance and mentorship to junior data scientists or analysts within the team, sharing best practices and helping them grow their skills.

What We’re Looking For

As a Staff Data Scientist, your background will look like

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field; Master's or Ph.D. preferred.

• 7 to 10 years of experience in data science , machine learning, or related field,, with a focus on applying machine learning techniques to real-world problems delivering impactful solutions.

• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, along with experience in data manipulation, analysis, and visualization using libraries such as pandas, NumPy, and Matplotlib.

• In-depth knowledge of machine learning algorithms and techniques, including supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, natural language processing, and reinforcement learning.

• Experience with big data technologies and platforms, such as Hadoop, Spark, and SQL databases, for handling and processing large-scale datasets.

• Proficiency in using machine learning frameworks and libraries, such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Keras, or similar tools.

• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into analytical solutions and actionable insights.

• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with a deep understanding of statistical methods, hypothesis testing, and experimental design.

• Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Proven leadership and teamwork abilities, with experience in leading projects, mentoring junior team members, and collaborating across functional teams.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a passion for learning and staying updated on emerging trends and technologies in data science and analytics.
