Naval Sea Systems Command MANAGER in Corona, California

Summary You will serve as a Manager and Deputy Department Head responsible for leading and supporting department-level responsibilities, projects, and teams for the Corporate Operations Department of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CTR CORONA DIV. Responsibilities You will assist the Corporate Operations Department Head in day-to-day operations, administrative and technical direction, strategic planning, process improvement, portfolio development, mission support execution, and other related activities. You will assist the Department Head in overseeing Department activities in support of Human Resources, Infrastructure, Corporate Communications, Information Technology, Security, Corporate Business, and Property Management functional areas. You will provide continuous high-level advice on policies, goals and objectives, and in formulation and implementation of polices that impact the entire Command. You will implement internal controls, human capital management, goal setting techniques, and team building activities to effectively manage administrative technicians, engineers, and support staff. You will develop strategies and approaches to support the development of Corporate Operations Department business and technical competencies that align to Command goals and strategic initiatives. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-05 (GS-13/14 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Managing and directing corporate business operations (e.g. Human Resources, Infrastructure, Corporate Communications, Information Technology, Security, Corporate Business, and Property Management) to develop plans and project approaches, improve business processes, and execute Command level organizational policies, processes, mandates, and operations within corporate compliance. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-06 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-14 and GS-15. Additional vacancies may be filled by this announcement.
