The Senior Data Reporting Associate will collect and manage mandatory data reporting to Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR), Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT) and to fulfil internal COH requirement for transplant registering, tracking and outcomes reporting. He/she will coordinate and submit assigned data for all allogeneic and autologous transplants, cellular therapies if applicable. He /she will be required to manage different hematology disease data reporting, transplant and cellular therapies product, infusion information, recipient/donor characteristics reporting, post-transplant complications, Graft vs Host disease reporting, etc. He/she will manage assigned new patients baseline datasets and assigned CPI list for required follow up every 4 months as directed by CIBMTR. For every recipient, the essential data sets are required to be completed. In addition he /she will be assigned more comprehensive forms when assigned per CIBMTR or as assigned by supervisor to help with very difficult cases on comprehensive track and with special data collection forms like: Veno-Occlusive disease; supplemental forms for different disease , special projects COH is collaborating with CIBMTR, COH initiated projects related to the transplant database, etc. He/she will be required to meet at least 90% required data completion per CIBMTR in addition to fulfilling COH requirements for internal reporting .He/she will be required to follow the established data submission timeline and to follow all the requirements as defined by the Stem Cell Transplant Outcomes Database (SCTOD) and mandated by C.W. Young federal law for transplant reporting. In addition, any additional tasks/lists assigned by the supervisor must be completed within pre-established time frame. He/she must maintain high data quality, function independently and proficiently. Per CIBMTR/FACT standards he/she must perform within required quality benchmarks, participate in continuing education and training. He/she will assist with data quality functions, audit preparations, etc.
Has proven to function independently and proficiently as defined in the position accountabilities. Serves as a technical resource for the Department and assists in training of new staff members.
Conducts data collection, management and submission of transplant /cellular therapies /outcomes to CIBMTR, FACT, and COH internal database.
Maintains current and accurate data documentation, correspondence with physicians and CIBMTR liaison; notifies supervisor and Senior Data Quality Monitors (SDQM) of any pertinent changes.Ensures that patients are appropriately registered in COH and CIBMTR database; maintains documentation of patient registration.
Compiles and submits data on appropriate forms and different databases according to CIBMTR requirements/FACT standards and COH internal data requirements.
Ensures regulatory/CIBMTR compliance with intense monitoring of specific requirements; Assist SDQM with CIBMTR regulatory requirements.
Participates in the training and quality control monitoring of Transplant/Cellular tx Data Reporting Associates
Serves as a technical resource for Department and helps to train and mentor new staff members.
Identifies and participates in additional training/in-service that would benefit all data management staff.
Troubleshoot problems at all stages of data collection and reporting and assist with modifying operational procedures to address challenges and improve efficiencies.
Participates in transplant database design and development at COH and testing of the new/revised CIBMTR forms.
Reviews Data manuals regularly for the updates and inform data management staff of changes and help organize applicable training/review.
Assist with addressing electronic medical records discrepancies, provides feedback on test cases to help improve data collection, efficiency and quality.
Coordinates special projects working closely with COH hematology physicians and the Statisticians.
Makes recommendations and participates in Policy and Procedure development regarding particular areas of team assignment and general data management issues.
Works with supervisor to ensure performance of appropriate levels of quality
Identifies and communicates important protocol and data management issues or problem areas to supervisor.
Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to maintain certification/licensure if applicable, and/or keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise following required data management training and continuing education per FACT standards.
Is self-motivated in organizing and following through on assigned projects.
Ensures work environment is organized and functions efficiently.
Attends and participates in meetings as required.
Minimum Education : Bachelor’s degree, Experience may substitute for minimum education requirements
Minimum Experience : 5 years working in a health care setting/research, preferably in Hematology/Transplant setting.
Req. Certification : Certification through the Society of Clinical Research Associates or the Association of Clinical Research Professionals
Preferred Experience : This role requires candidate who already has and will be able to quickly gain additional knowledge and understanding of blood an marrow transplant processes, all hematology malignancies , other transplant related process /complications such as: HLA typing, mobilization/apheresis, HCT infusion process, GVHD reporting, toxicity grading, disease response. Excellent knowledge of medical terminology, experience with different Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
