In this pivotal role, you'll helm the Enterprise Learning & Development (EL&D) Instructional Strategy, setting the standard for instructional design discipline and delivery strategy across the enterprise. Your responsibilities will encompass being responsible for program delivery for enterprise learning services, guaranteeing that instructional design standards resonate effectively throughout the organization.

  • Lead a team of learning professionals to uphold the highest standards of quality and effectiveness, driving continuous improvement efforts.

  • Collaborate closely with the EL&D leadership to spearhead the integration of cutting-edge technology into all instructional design programs, driving transformative advancements.

  • Articulate the impact and outcomes of instructional design initiatives to key partners.

  • Ensure robust learning evaluation and measurement practices are in place.

  • Lead with innovative insights into the instructional design process, contributing recommendations to improve the learning framework and overall strategy.

  • Provide direction to align learning strategies with SCE's organizational objectives, facilitating the prioritization of instructional design initiatives.

  • Forge strategic partnerships across the organization to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the learning journey.

The essentials

  • Five or more years of experience managing a team of direct reports and/or project management.

  • Five or more years of experience leading in a learning and development role.

The preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Human Resources, Organization Development, or related field.

  • In-depth instructional design background, experience in learning transformation, and knowledge of Bloom's Taxonomy, Peter Senge's principles, and the ATD Capability Model.

  • Proficiency as a forward-thinking and innovative strategist, adept at defining clear objectives, crafting action-driven plans and solutions, garnering support, and proactively navigating challenges and dependencies.

  • Experience in defending program design and results with regulatory agencies such as Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) as well as knowledge of compliance with employment laws and regulations.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and knowledge of personality and leadership styles and appropriate communications, group dynamics, engagement techniques and successful team building to further organizational professionalism and strategic agility.

You should know

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid.  The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
