About the Position:

The Careers for a Cause {C4C} Case Manager provides casework services to C4C students, including but not limited to screening, intake, needs assessment, the development of case management plans, and referrals to career pathways in social services.

Salary Range: $20-$22/hr.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide Case Management, job development and job placement to students.

  • Conduct initial screening, intake, and assessments for all potential C4C students.

  • Prepare, review, and update Individual Employment Plans (IEP) for participants assigned to caseload.

  • Develop and monitor the participant's progress relative to their IEP through all phases of the program.

  • Document all progress and all services provided in the participants' files (employment effort/status, case conference results, and referral services)

  • Make appropriate referrals to outside agencies, as necessary.

  • Maintain collaborative relationships Community Colleges and County of LA

  • Maintain comprehensive case records and accurate statistical information for participants and services, including all of the required elements of the IEP.

  • Provide intake screening for participants that shall include right to work status.

  • Attend workshops, meetings, and training as requested by the supervisor.

  • Data entry into Cal JOBS and Apricot.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

    What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or a related field; OR High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of two years’ experience working with criminal justice or related population.

  • Valid California driver's license and be eligible for Amity vehicle insurance.

  • Offender Mentorship and Conflict Resolution Certification.

  • Experience with counseling justice involved individuals in a prison or similar setting a plus.

  • Understanding of causes, symptoms, and effects of long-term incarceration; appreciation for the behavioral, psychological, physical, and social effects of incarceration.

  • Recognition of the importance of individual differences created by personalities, cultures, lifestyles, social networks, and other factors that influence behavior.

  • Operational knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Access

  • Ability to prioritize competing tasks with multiple deadlines.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in the community and within the organization.

  • Participate in community-building activities as appropriate to the position.

  • Protect program participants' health, safety, welfare, and confidentiality of records and participant information.
