Director of Pediatric Pathology

Job Description

The Director of Pediatric Pathology provides support and expertise in the specific field relevant to the position.

Term of Appointment

The Director of Pediatric Pathology serves a maximum term of four years in concert with the term of the Chair and is eligible for reappointment. In case of interim chair, the Director of Pediatric Pathology serves until a permanent Chair is appointed and is eligible for reappointment.

Qualifications

The Director of Pediatric Pathology must have a formal education at the MD, DO, and/or PhD degree level , demonstrate career experiences relevant to the position, and be able to demonstrate a record of excellence in teaching, education, and scholarly activity.

List of Responsibilities

  • Provides p rofessional expertise and teaching in Pediatric Pathology, Pediatric Autopsy, and Perinatal Pathology.

  • Supervise and lead team of pediatric pathologists and fellow ensuring efficient, accurate and effective workflow.

  • Oversee Pediatric Pathology Fellowship Program .

  • Facilitate the educational programs from undergraduate through graduate medical education in the field relevant to the position.

  • Provides guidelines for the service related to diagnostic terminology, turn-around-time, and testing .

  • Lead research projects in Pediatric and Perinatal Pathology

  • Organize journal clubs for subspecialty faculty and trainees .

  • Oversee development and progress of faculty and trainees .

  • Increase Outreach of Pediatric Pathology cases .

  • Support the role of VC of Faculty Affairs and Development.
