Now hiring a Case Manager Supervisor at BAY CORRECTIONAL FACILITY. Required: C orrections and unit management experience specifically with FDOC

Position Summary:

Reports to the deputy warden of programs. Directly supervises the case managers. Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the case management department of the facility, as well as maintaining a case load in compliance with American Correctional Association (ACA) standards, Management & Training Corporation (MTC), Florida Department of Corrections (FDOC) and Florida Department of Management Services (DMS) directives.

Essential Functions:

  1. Supervise the programmatic functions of the case management staff.

  2. Provide assistance to the job development staff in preparing the offender for release.

  3. Conduct staff development training for the case managers. Also, participate in the program planning process for the offender.

  4. Maintain communications with all other departments and participate on the program team.

  5. Provide direct aid to the inmates with personal needs or problems, i.e., sickness, injury, family problems.

  6. Review detailed background files and conduct personal interviews and recommend a program for each assigned inmate.

  7. Provide continuous educational, vocational, personal and social adjustment counseling on an individual and group basis. Recommend necessary program modifications throughout each inmates assigned stay.

  8. Utilize new concepts and approaches; recommend and conduct training sessions and conferences to develop greater proficiency among staff in the areas of guidance and social adjustment.

  9. Recommend medical and psychiatric evaluation for emotional or psychological problems. Evaluate results and take remedial action as warranted.

  10. Provide staff with the necessary community resources registry that will help in transition of the inmate.

It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelors degree in counseling, human services and two years related experience. Minimum of one-year supervisory experience required. Valid drivers license in the State of Florida with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.

Post Hire Requirements:

Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements.
