Pay Grade: 11

Salary: $67,000 - $70,000 / year

Other Forms of Compensation: Quarterly CIOG (Cash In On Growth) bonus eligible

Job Summary

Essential Job Functions and Requirements:

• Ensure full compliance with all government food safety regulations, and maintain highest possible industry food safety ratings.

• Ensure that facility is in compliance with all GMP, HACCP guidelines, and company policies.

• Interact effectively with USDA officials and management to maintain positive, responsive relationships and assure rapid corrective actions.

• Verify and assure compliance with established food safety and quality objectives through daily monitoring programs, plant supervision, and on-going verification of internal controls.

• Enforce new and improved quality, food safety, sanitation programs, policies and procedures to ensure that established standards are consistently, measured, documented and maintained.

• Maintain & recommend improvements to workplace safety programs, procedures and policies.

• Maintain HACCP programs and CCPs up to date.

• Develop and deliver training for food safety and quality requirements.

• Develop and maintain SOP’s, as well as maintenance of manuals, policies, and procedures related to any food safety concerns.

• Oversee proper maintenance and sanitation of the facility to comply with food safety requirements.

• Document, investigate quality concerns, follow up with corrective measures.

• Coordinate all SQF verification activities coordinating with other functions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in science (e.g. food science, food technology, environmental science, nutrition/dietetics)

• HACCP certified and FDA and/or USDA experience.

• SQF Practitioner Certification (Preferred)

• Working knowledge of quality practices and procedures and the ability to collaborate with other teams.

• Knowledge and experience in food microbiology, food safety, sanitation systems

• Strong interpersonal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to effectively work with all management and operators.

• Ability to communicate in Spanish desirable.

• Strong analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to use creative and innovative approaches to resolve complex problems.

• Computer skills, to include Office, Excel, PowerPoint, or similar
