LA Testing is seeking a Laboratory Assistant in South Pasadena, CA. This is support position for the laboratory manager and the analysts. It will oversee preparing, shipping, receiving, distributing, and logging in of samples. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Prepare environmental samples prior to analysis for Microbiology sample prep and any areas of prep related to client work Perform quality control checks on supplies and manage multiple spreadsheets for microbiology departmentAssist with cleaning and maintenance of lab equipmentGood lab practiceReceive environmental samples and enter Chain of Custody into LIMS systemAssist with billing Accept shipping and handling items received by the laboratory from clientsAssist with high volume customer service client questions via in person, phone, and e-mailOther laboratory and administrative duties such as filing, faxing, copying may be assigned by lab staff and manager as neededRequirements:High School degree/equivalent Associates Degree in Life Science/ two years of college course work completedOne to two years of previous academic or commercial lab experience is a plusAbility to work independently and with a teamGood communication, computer, typing, and organizational skills.Proficient in MS Office especially EXCEL and typingExcellent customer service skills customer service experience is a plusAbility to work in a fast-paced setting, multi-task, and prioritize assignmentsAvailable Shift: Monday to Friday 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.LA Testing offers full time benefits: medical, dental, 401(k), voluntary benefits, paid time off, holiday pay and a flexible spending account.
